Teresa Martin

Partner at Mavens

Teresa is a founding partner of Mavens (2008), where she leads the Corporate Law practice, advising clients on strategic, contractual, and corporate matters. Her work includes mergers and acquisitions, divestments, shareholder agreements, partnership disputes, litigation prevention and management, insolvency proceedings, ICT, as well as labor and financial matters. She is particularly experienced in cross-border transactions and complex corporate structuring.
She holds a Law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), Madrid (1993), graduating with highest honors, and an LL.M. in Corporate Legal Advisory from Instituto de Empresa (now IE Law School), where she ranked first in her class (1994–95). She also pursued studies in Sociology at UNED and has completed advanced training in negotiation, management, directors’ liability, European companies, M&A, and project finance.
Teresa began her career at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, later joining PwC in the tax and legal department, and subsequently worked as a senior associate at Clifford Chance in Corporate–M&A. She later became a founding partner of Rodés & Sala Madrid, leading its Corporate Department.
She combines legal practice with teaching at ICADE and IE Law School, where she directs the Advanced Corporate Legal Program (M&A). She is co-author of Ethics in the Legal Profession (Aranzadi, 2008). Recognitions include Forty Lawyers Under Forty, Best Lawyer (2016–2021), and Leading Lawyer by Chambers and Partners (2012–2021).
