He joined as a Lawyer of the Courts and Tribunals of the Republic of Ecuador in January of the year 2000 after graduating from the Law School at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil. He holds a master’s degree in taxation from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., USA, obtained in 2005, and an MBA obtained in 2013 from the Instituto de Desarrollo Empresarial del Ecuador (IDE).
He has been practicing in the field of tax law, both national and international, since 2000. He is a founding partner of TLA Tax and Legal Advisors, a specialized legal advisory firm in Tax and Corporate Law.
His experience includes tax advice and planning for local companies regarding their investments in Ecuador and globally, as well as for foreign companies in the process of establishing investments in Ecuador. His practice also includes advising family groups in structuring their assets and complements his practice with advice on structuring family businesses. He has been a panelist at forums on tax law, both local and international. He is a member of the Bar Association of Guayas, the Institute of Tax Law of Ecuador, the International Bar Association, and STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
