Abrahm Smith is an international tax attorney that specializes in high-net-worth individuals and families. Before starting his own firm in the year 2020, he worked with the international law firms of White & Case and Baker McKenzie. At Baker McKenzie he was a partner in the firms Wealth Management group. Abrahm regularly deals with tax compliance issues, including IRS streamlined flings, audits, appeals and other procedural issues.
The majority of Abrahm’s clients are non-US persons who need US tax advice on issues such as US investments, pre-immigration planning, and minimizing US income and estate taxes. With respect to US real estate investments, Abrahm advises on FIRPTA withholding, U.S. situs estate tax issues for non-U.S. investors, and portfolio debt structures for non-US investors. With respect to the Corporate Transparency Act, Abrahm has been involved with the Tax Section of the Florida Bar’s comments on the Corporate Transparency Act and helped submit those comments to the IRS.
