Iván Ontaneda holds a double major in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Syracuse University. He also holds an Executive Master’s degree in Finance and Capital Markets from IE Business School. Iván has over ten years of experience in investment banking, strategic planning and having worked at GBS Finance, an investment banking boutique based in Spain, as a Senior Associate. During his time at GBS, he originated and executed more than 20 M&A, capital raising, and debt restructuring transactions, with his primary responsibility being the management of the firm’s Latin American portfolio. Since 2024, Iván has served as CFO of Eco-Kakao, where he has raised more than $20 million in debt for CAPEX and $120 million for OPEX. He has increased the company’s profitability by 35x compared to 2023 and reduced the company’s cash cycle from 15 days to 9 days by implementing working capital optimization strategies during the same period.
